LISTEN TO BORN DANCIN' FOR ELECTRIC CELLO AND DRUM MACHINE BY EVE BEGLARIAN ONLINE!!!
In 1989 I commissioned NYC composer, Eve Beglarian to create a new work for my new Tucker Barrett electric cello. I had worked with Eve at a festival in upstate New York and was really excited by her music, so it seemed natural to commission her to compose an original work for my new instrument. I loved collaborating with Eve! The result was Born Dancin' for electric cello and drum machine. The work is based on a short story by Donald Barthelme. A performance begins with a reading of the story which gives insight to the music that follows. Here is the link to the recording which was done in the early 1990's. I had so much fun revisiting this recording and glad it is online for everyone to hear. I hope you enjoy it as well. More...

NEW UTUBE VIDEO - recycled tyvek
recycled tyvek, an interactive video improvisation for e-cello and computer by Jeffrey Krieger was premiered on March 9th at Capital Community College in downtown Hartford, Connecticut.
http://www.youtube.com/user/acdcvc
recycled tyvek is a computer interactive video improvisation using video and sound collected for the collaborative, parallel media project, Reliquary of Labor by media artist, Gene Gort, composer, Ken Steen and Jeffrey Krieger, e-cello. The improvisation is also inspired by the cello-like instrument of North India, the sarangi. This instrument has 40 shimmering, sympathetic strings which must be tuned according to the determined mode or raga. The video image is a metaphor for the resonating goat skin attached to the belly of the sarangi, and is essential to its particular quality of sound.
